I'll admit, im new and I didn't know what to look for upon receiving fish, my first order from AH, no issues at all. So I placed another order within 2 weeks for a pair of Apistogramma. Upon receiving them, I saw they were alive, couldn't be happier, didnt even think to look the fish over. I only have 1 tank so quarantine the fish b4 putting them in isn't really an option. So I acclimated, no issues. 2 weeks in and my fish has Popeye, I go back and look at the first clear pictures I took of them in the tank (day after recieving the fish) and he's got white around his eyes.. none of my other fish have any issues, just this guy.
This was my first time buying fish online. I know Carinal tetras are a bit fragile. I used the FedEx overnight option for shipping. For some reason FedEx-Memphis had a problem and held the package an extra night. I was so disappointed! I thought for sure I was going to open the box and find 18 dead fish. To my surprise, they arrived in very good condition. One did not make it though. He was wedged in a wrinkle where the bag was crimped shut. Each bag was double bagged and both were placed and sealed in another bag. Great packaging job. I did not bother asking for a credit for the one fish. I was just so happy to have 17 healthy Cardinals. It will be two weeks tomorrow that they arrived and they are doing great. Great job Aqua Huna staff. Wish I could say the same for FedEx. Poor fish had to spend an extra day in that small dark box.
At first, things didnt look great. I expected some burn off. They never died, so.i just left them alone. My other plants took off and hid them, so I just fogured it was a loss. Then about 9 months later they came poking out of the top of my tank. They are very happy, healthy plants now.
