They arrived alive and on time. These are absolutely beautiful snails that are thriving in tanks. The colors are gorgeous and to occasionally spot them enjoying their ecosystem is a treat. I’d suggest them. You may need more than one per tank to see a real algae control.
What a cool new addition to the aquarium hobby! I love its striking orange coloration on its body! Very unique and different.
Aqua Huna sent them just wrapped in a wet paper towel in a ziplock bag. It seems sufficient because they arrived alive and healthy and had no issue acclimating to my aquarium.
So if you are used to mystery snails or nerite snails these snails are not like those at all. Most notably, the 2 Blueberry snails I received are SLLLOOOOWWW. I was used to the other snails in the hobby racing up to the top of the glass to detach and gracefully glide to the bottom of the tank. Nope, not these Blueberries. They crawl at literally a snails pace.
I have read others experience online saying they have a hard time keeping these snails.
This has not been my experience, they seem just as easy as other snails and due to being so slow I haven't had any escape attempts.
Tanks PH is around 8, temperature is kept at 73 F, tank size is 75 gallons.
The snails feed on the algae that grows on the glass.
I got these to test if my tanks parameters were adequate for their wellbeing. Will be adding more for my clean up crew!
