Great fish, but have Ich-X ready

I bought 16 Green Neon's to add to an existing school. At least 3 of the AquaHuna fish had a small case (maybe 3-4 spots on each of the 3 fish) of Ich. So, I can confirm as of late Jan 2025 that Ich mentioned in earlier reviews is still an issue. BUT, please consider the following:

The Green Neons were all a good size, AquaHuna prices them well, and especially so with their notably lower shipping costs than competitors. All the fish were healthy & active otherwise. In writing this review a month later, all of them are still thriving, and have totally blended in with my original (larger) school. For me, Ich-X medication is easy enough to administer with no notable stress or injury to my community tanks including the shrimp and snails in there. To me, it was a small price to pay for otherwise great fish.

There have been reviews that took issue with the fish arriving in strange yellow water. Well, I can confirm that yes, the water they arrived in was indeed yellow. However, there was nothing dirty, smelly or otherwise concerning about it. It may very well be that AquaHuna uses leaves to help keep their water a little more acidic or otherwise closer in condition to Green Neon's natural environment, and the yellow is just the tannins. Note that I've ordered a variety of fish over the years from AquaHuna including other fish that came in this same shipment, and the water is always clear, so I think it's specific to how they feel best practices are for keeping their Green Neon's.

I've given AquaHuna 4 out of 5 stars for the Green Neon's. 1 star deducted given the Ich, but that has fast faded from memory as with treatment it went away, and these fish have since proven to be healthy, beautiful and resilient.

Everyone arrived alive! These are so stunningly beautiful the colors are super pretty!

Would probably not buy again.

Shipping conditions were not great. Corners of plastic bags were not taped, so several fish were stuck motionless in folded corners and appeared doa. However, they were all alive even after extended shipping delays due to the carrier, not aquahuna. Unfortunately, they all passed shortly within days after acclimating well overnight. Many reviews are great so could be my bad luck!
