The Green Neon Shrimp (Babaulti Shrimp) have a serrated and extremely long rostrum. The top of its nose has toothy appendages that look like small dragons.

The typical length of The Green Neon Shrimp is 1-1.5 inches. Female shrimps are larger and rounder than their male counterparts because of the saddles that carry their ovaries.

Though this shrimp species has a wide color variation, it has some chromatic adaptation like a chameleon. This means that it will change its color to suit your aquarium’s environment when startled or agitated.

Suggested Water Temperature:  68-72 degrees F
Shrimp are currently in water pH: 6.8 to 7.0
  • Male/Female: Will be picked at random (no custom orders)

Hard to find species

I was looking for this species for a long time and after 2 failed purchases (both ended up being davidii) I finally found the ones! They do not look very green for me and I've had them a while. I understand that they can change color a bit to match their surroundings, mine are on natural pea gravel with a tan/brown color so these guys usually look brown, like mini bamboo shrimp. The original shrimp I received (2 females, 6 males) have long since passed on but their young have taken their place and multiplied readily.

Tiny but so active

They arrived yesterday, which was super fast. The shrimp were very active and looked great. Very young and small, which is a plus in my opinion.

I drip acclimated them over three hours. They started cleaning as soon as they were released. Since then, I haven't been able to find them because they are hiding. No sign of any fatalities this morning. 60 gallon, heavily planted shrimp only tank.

Thanks much! Aqua Huna is now my go to place for shrimp! Nobody else has this particular variety. I wanted this type so I could house them with my cherry reds without cross breeding. Water parameter requirements between the two are close enough that I can hopefully satisfy both. My cherries (also previously purchased from Aqua Huna) are now heavily berried.
