Box arrived, bottom wet. Opened the box. Bag had broken in transit, with 6 dead and out of bag, since 80 percent water gone! 2 we’re clinging to life in water and added to my tank, but now nowhere to be found.
I've ordered 2 batches of 14 small a little over a week apart (received the second batch today)
I haven't done neon's in a very long time, decided to give them another go even though I've heard that these days they are very weak and hard to keep alive (I've never had a problem in the past, but that was MANY years ago)
My first order I chose the size small (14 fish). I only received 10. I did contact customer service and was quickly reimbursed for the missing fish.
I did have them overnight shipped. When they arrived they were pale, but all were alive. I slowly acclimated, they colored up quickly and buy day 3 were already fully colored up and happy. No losses.
Ordered another batch of 14 small, again overnighted. This batch was extremely pale, I couldn't even tell they were neon's because they had NO color at all. However during acclimation the red started showing in their tails. I definately got the 14 I ordered, maybe an extra or 2...(they are so fast I am having trouble counting them- plus they are in the same tank as the others so who knows?).
Once in the tank they really began coloring up good, swimming happily, all appear healthy.
I'm sure they'll be fine.
I think it's important to note that for neon's, you'll have the most success with well seasoned established tanks. I'm very happy with these
